PUBLIC ART

IN

XR

sxsw 2024 Panel picker proposal & vote

My work as a public artist is driven by a passion for addressing social and environmental issues through art. I believe that public art can be a powerful tool to challenge and transform the way we think and act on topics such as violence, climate change, pollution, waste, and more. Public art is not only about beautifying the space, but also about engaging the public in meaningful dialogues that can lead to positive change.

During the pandemic, when public gatherings were limited, I experimented with Extended Reality (XR) technology to enhance and expand my public art practice. XR technology combines virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality to create immersive and interactive experiences that can overcome the physical limitations and barriers of the real world. I have created XR projects that can increase the message and impact of my public art by making it more accessible, engaging, and educational.

My goal is to showcase and exhibit these XR projects at SXSW 2024, where I hope to reach a broader and more diverse audience. I want to show how XR technology can be used to create innovative and impactful public art that can motivate people to think critically and creatively about the world we live in, and to take action for positive change.

On this website, you can experience some examples of my public art in XR technology in 3D model form by accessing them virtually using your computer, smartphone or Oculus headset. You can also see some samples of my physical public art. I hope you enjoy this experience!
